Account Setup
AEX uses Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) for authentication. Your organisation's administrator will provision your account.
Prerequisites
Before you can access AEX, you need:
- An invitation from your organisation's AEX administrator
- A supported browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari (latest versions)
- Azure AD credentials — your organisation's single sign-on (SSO) credentials
Signing in for the first time
- Navigate to the AEX trading platform URL provided by your administrator
- You will be redirected to the Azure AD sign-in page
- Enter your organisation credentials
- On first login, you may be asked to consent to the AEX application permissions
- Once authenticated, you will land on the trading terminal
note
If you receive an "invitation required" message, contact your organisation's AEX administrator to ensure your invitation has been sent and you have accepted it.
User roles
Your administrator assigns you one or more roles that determine what you can access:
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| Trader | View market data, place and manage orders |
| Market Maker | Trader access plus Excel Add-in connectivity |
| Credit Officer | View and manage credit limits for your entity |
| Admin | Full platform access including user and entity management |
Configuring your workspace
After signing in, you can customise your trading workspace:
- Theme — choose light or dark mode in Settings
- Timezone — set your preferred display timezone (defaults to NZST/NZDT)
- Workspace layout — drag and resize panes to arrange your ideal trading layout. Layouts are saved automatically.
